Graham Greer

Graham Greer

Canadian singer/songwriter Graham Greer is the former lead singer/guitarist/songwriter of Barstool Prophets, who toured Canada and the US through much of the 1990's in support of one 1993 indie release and two major-label releases while signed to Mercury/Polygram (1995's "Crank" and1997's "Last of the Big Game Hunters").

'Paranoia', the second single from 'Crank', was featured in the Alliance/Atlantis major motion picture "Never Talk to Strangers" (starring Rebecca Demornay and Antonio Banderas) and helped spur ‘Crank’ on to a successful worldwide release in 1996 through Polygram.

After Barstool Prophets parted ways in 1999, Graham got as far away from the music business as he could, becoming a mechanic’s apprentice and learning the trade. Bruised knuckles and gritted teeth soon followed and Greer found himself sending home-recordings to his friend, veteran US producer Joe Hardy (ZZ Top, Steve Earle, Tom Cochrane) to get some input and salvage his sanity.

Graham has since released one solo CD under the name ‘Moonlight Graham’ entitled “Palookaville” (2003) which he co-produced with Joe Hardy and released a self-titled solo CD in 2009. This CDs production was shared between Graham, Joe Hardy and Graham’s long-time friend and multi-instrumentalist Todd Huckabone.

Graham & company are currently working on a new batch of songs tentatively scheduled for release in the spring of 2012.

In his musical career Graham has opened for artists ranging from David Lindley to Dave Matthews… but having someone named David involved is not his only criteria for choosing what shows he does.

Recent news:
named ‘Best Male’ at 2009 Barrie New Music Awards
named ‘Canadian People’s Choice’ in 2009 NPR Mountain Stage Newsong Contest
Graham’s song ‘Wire-Walker’ received ‘Honorable Mention’ in prestigious 2009 New York Songwriters Circle
‘Wire-Walker’ also received ‘Honorable Mention’ in (equally) prestigious 2010 Nashville Songwriters Association Song Contest

Sarah Melody

Sarah Melody

Sarah Melody is an emerging Pop/Urban-Rock artist and songwriter on the Canadian music scene. She has been focused on studio recording and live performance for the past several years, sharpening her skill. With support from her 4-piece band, she launched her full length CD, “Side Two”, in the fall of 2007.

Sarah’s style of music is a form of smooth R & B, pop, and rock with an eclectic diverse creative edge to it. The creative side allows her to embellish and create music that has meaning and has impact on the world around her. “I’ve been writing a lot of different style of music these days. As a songwriter, I write for my audience and want my music to be relatable”, states Sarah. Sarah uses her music as a tool to speak out on human rights issues. Her storylines influence listeners through her musical arrangements and content leaving a lasting impression.

Sarah is happy to announce the release of “Stand Back” (rock mix) featuring Snow. The original was more of an R & B song from her debut CD “Side Two”. This version has more of a pop/rock style to it. Her interest in re-mixing the song was primarily due to her working with a live band. “Stand Back” is a story about a woman’s intolerance to her boyfriend cheating on her. She follows him without him knowing. This song carries a serious message all set to a hot hip-hop beat. It has a smooth rhythm, great lyrics, and has a great catchy verse.

Sarah plans to release her latest EP this July (2013) titled “Simple Things”. Co-writers on the EP include Brian Allen (Toronto, HEART, Lee Aaron), and Greg Keyes (Neverest, Fefe Dobson). “Whatever comes out of the pen and on to the paper will be the new sound for the album. I don’t want to be an artist that sits down and just writes songs for radio, I want to write music for all audiences.”

Sara Melody has worked with award-winning producers Luke McMaster (Canadian Idol winners Ryan Malcolm & Kalan Porter), Boomtang (dance remixes for The Philosopher Kings, Bif Naked, Corey Hart, and Ashley MacIsaac), Perry Alexander (Keshia Chanté, Shawn Desman, George) and Marcus Kane (Snow, Gary Beals, X-Quisite).

Ed Roman

Ed Roman

The many faces of Ed Roman are revealed through his creative, inventive, animated type form of thinking. His music writes reads and delivers like a fusion between a children’s book and a musical – full of wonder, delight, adventure and expectations.

Since Ed began playing, studying and writing music in the early 80’s he had diversified into many fields of music. You can say he’s had his hand in every facet of the creative process; from studio musician, songwriter, live performer and teacher. He has also been part of several bands including Brotherhood, Family Tree, Soup, Big Beat Collective and Special Ed and the Musically Challenged.

On May 26, 2011 Ed Roman released his latest CD titled “Oracles & Ice Cream”. The single “So I Breathe” leads the way with an upbeat, hand clapping song. “It’s a song that was written to uplift everyone in troubled times…” states Ed. In fact, listen to the lyrics and you’ll realize that life is great in spite of obstacles that one may face. Sung with emotion, free spirited with an almost floating feeling, this song truly makes your soul soar.

As a composer Ed Roman is clever in placement of lyrics and sound. As a musical arranger, it takes innate skill to blend so many different types of sounds and textures together. Whether he writes funky jazz or fusion rock or urban folk music, there is one of many common threads that run through his songs, creativity, innovation, strong rhythms, layered vocals and harmonies and professional productions. He has crisp vocals with a playful type of animation to it which is the icing on this fabulous cake.

“Intellect in music has its own sexiness”, states Ed Roman. “Music is missing that ‘change the world’ feeling. I don’t think we’ll ever see another John Lennon, but with my soon to be released CD “Oracles and Ice Cream” music is intelligent and sexy again…and may just change the world after all”.

Ed Roman prior releases include:
Special Ed and The Musically Challenged – “Are You OK”
Special Ed and The Musically Challanged – “Uncle Ed’s Farm”
Special Ed and The Musically Challenged – “Electric Beauty”
